Over the Line
South Zagoria, Chernarus
In mid-1994, the remaining forces of the self-proclaimed Chernarussian Republic of Kurmansk, severely weakened after the capture of Pecher by government troops, disintegrated after strong internal conflicts over the leadership of the territories still under their control.
However, the armed militias resulting from the separation, although at odds with each other, have maintained hostilities with the Chernarus government, whose top commanders see the situation as an opportunity to unblock the conflict, which maintained the front line with very little variation since February 1994. The Kurmansk Popular Front, the most prominent and self-proclaimed legitimate heir to the independence movement in the industrial regions of the country, has managed, however, not only to maintain its positions, but to launch offensives in the province of South Zagoria, thus rekindling the flame of the civil war that has been plaguing the country for four years.
Government troops continue to maintain the initiative, and maintain crucial territories that hinder the actions of the rebel forces. Maybe the next months will be the last of war in the entire Chernarus…
