The J-155 "Talwar" is a Point Defense Interceptor. It’s primary role to provide point defense interception capability to airbases around Newquay. Built during the cold war, the Talwar was intended to stay on Alert-2 Status, ready to be in the air within 2 minutes from the scramble signal, to intercept bomber threats with its AA.16 Missiles.

Although an old aircraft, the Talwar remains in service due to its relatively high speed and low operational costs, making it ideal for conducting QRA operations against non-responsive civilian aircraft, it being replaced for use against hostile aircraft by the J-110 and J-108. However, the Talwar has also found a new combat role for itself in modern times, utilising its high speed flight as an asset to conduct maritime attack missions against warships with AS.15/17 Anti-Ship Missiles.

As it’s role is as an interceptor it’s weapons capacity is limited, sporting two L30A Autocannons with 100 HE rounds each as well as two wing hardpoints, which are capable of using external fuel tanks, and all NQ Standardised Weaponry.

HOW TO USE:

---

TURNING ON & TAKING OFF
– Enter Cockpit
– On the right flip BATTERY RELAY & AVIONICS RELAY
– On the left flip ENGINE FUEL VALVE & ENGINE IGNITION
– Increase Throttle to 5%
– Close CANOPY
– Turn on the displays with MONITOR/HUD/BACKLIGHTS
– Turn on RADAR ISOLATOR to enable the Search Radar
– Turn on MASTER ARM to enable the locking radar, chaff, and weapons
– To take off set Throttle to atleast 35% and release the parking break with HOTKEY 5

ENGAGING THREATS
– Ensure MASTER ARM is ON and if neccessary ARM AUTOCHAFF
– Select Pylon 1 or 2 on the Pylon selector
– Aim at Target, on Hud Green Radar tracking box will turn red after 2s of tracking, then use HOTKEY 1 to fire hardpoints.
