Description:

This is a technical mod designed to create a dummy unit that can be added to an AI army to prevent the AI from recruiting more units.

The code to add the dummy unit to AI armies is not included in this mod. So this mod requires someone (perhaps myself in the future) to make a mod that adds the unit to AI armies when appropriate.

If an AI brings some of the dummy units into a battle, they will simply never be deployed on the battlefield (they die in the setup phase). If the units are somehow deployed on the battlefield, they also have the ability to deal 10000 damage to themselves at the start of the battle.

These units have no combat potential, so they should not contribute to auto-resolve strength. They are also marked to die in melee combat, like bloated corpses. However, autoresolve works in mysterious ways. Not all units enter the battle (it resolves 10 units at a time). Also, by default, it resolves about 10 turns in one go before removing dead units, and finally, in the after-battle report, the damage done is "redistributed" to make it look like all units fought…. Long story short, some dummy units survive autoresolve and may even look like they dealt damage. Consider this a visual bug.

If you want to use this unit in your work, you can make this mod a required mod. You are also free to simply copy what you need. It is recommended that you keep this as a separate mod, as explained below.

Once a dummy unit exists in your campaign, this mod cannot be removed without crashing that particular campaign (if you try to load it). However, this mod does not add any gameplay changes, so it is quite safe to keep it installed. There will only be new dummy units in your game if you have another mod that adds them.

If you have the Console Commands mod installed, you can run the command

lua trubble_clean_all()

and it will remove all dummy units in the game. This can be useful if you have a campaign that you would like to continue, but want to remove this mod.
