>>> NEW MISSIONS TREE:
⇒ Trade Empire
The economic path has been deepened. From the struggle with the Italian cities (like our Genoese enemies) to control Mediterranean trade to the productive modernization of our economy.
⇒ Mediterranean ambition.
The path of expansion through the Mediterranean Sea is the natural one for the Crown of Aragon. Quests, requirements, rewards, and descriptions have been improved. From the Berber affair to the dangerous Turkish offensive, going through a whole Mare Nostrum full of opportunities, such as recovering the Greek possessions of the Duchy of Neopatria.
In addition, two events on the historical relations that King Alfons the Magnànim had in Bosnia and Albania will allow you to forge alliances and vassalships. A good point from which to fight to get Constantinoble once it is already in Ottoman hands.
⇒ Colonial adventure.
Aragon looks to the East and the Atlantic is not the most natural path, but it can be through Castilla and the Maghreb or through Navarre and Occitania. There are some events typical of this path, such as, for example, that if you possess Seville, Columbus will offer himself to you instead of Castilla.
⇒ Other small paths
The nominal possession of the title of King of Jerusalem that Alfons achieved by seizing Naples from the Anjou has been shaped and linked to a new religious path.
The romantic Occitan-Catalan reunification (cut short by defeat at Muret against the French in the 13th century) has been improved.
Winning hegemony in the Mare Nostrum and subduing the Ottomans may take us as far as Persia and the provinces of the Silk Road.
Crossing the Sahara desert? It may be a way other than by sea to reach inhospitable places in Africa.
>>> 8 NEW MONUMENTS
— Llotja de la Seda in Valencia (linked to the mission tree) and 7 more monuments outside of Aragon, such as the Venetian Arsenal or the Walls of Ragusa.
>>> 16 NEW TRADE ROUTES
Constantinople to Genoa, Seville to Tunis, Tunis to Constantinople, Bordeaux to Valencia, Valencia to Ragusa, Bordeaux to the English Channel, Chesapeak to Bordeaux, Chesapeak to Seville, Brazil to Seville, Brazil to Safi, Caribbean to Safi, Caribbean to Mar from the North, Kazan to the White Sea, Mexico to Mississippi and Rio Grande to the Caribbean. Some trade nodes have had minor modifications to the provinces they contain, but the original game structure is essentially maintained.
>>> CHANGES TO NAVARRE AND THE ARAGONESE SUCCESSION
⇒ Navarra has Carlos de Viana as heir in 1444 and a modifier that guarantees a few more years of independence.
⇒ The event of Alfons’ death has been reworked, expanding options (inspired by the real conflict that Joan would have with the Catalan institutions). If Alfons dies before his brother Joan, you can choose between him (with Navarra in Personal Union -if he is still independent- but angering the Catalan nobility) or his son Carles de Viana (more interested in the Renaissance culture that comes from Napoli) . In the second option, Navarra happens to have Leonor as his successor and the relationship between the two countries becomes complicated.
⇒ Later, if we have Joan as King and he dies, a new event will give Navarra (in a PU) a wish for freedom.
>>> MORE CHANGES
⇒ Reworked national ideas.
⇒ The nobility has a strong influence in the early years but can be reduced through events.
⇒ Aragon begins with a special government reform (Furs i Actes de Corts)
⇒ The Catalan, Aragonese and Occitan cultures are part of the Occitan-Romance cultural group. It includes the provinces that had a Gascon culture and that are now all Occitan.
⇒ New directors such as Ausiàs March, Enyego d’Àvalos or Alfons de Borja
Borja.
⇒ It begins with two historical military leaders: Pere de Bell-lloc as a general and Bernat de Vilamarí as an admiral.
⇒ Genoa and Tunisia are historical rivals.
