Ystirol, the Capital of the Osteer Free State is situated on the north-western part of the country inside the Valley of Ystirol. This place was chosen back in the day for its natural defences and the abundance of minerals, ores and timber. Having an airship mooring mast, this place was not only a major industrial and transportation hub, but a gateway to the northern mountain regions of the island, where most of the ore mines were located. While the Uprising had little support in these areas, the Unionists knew the significance of the capital and what its capture would mean,
thus a somewhat hastily organized motorised regiment was sent out to guickly take control. Unbeknownst to the attackers the Osteer Government dispatched more troops via airships to bolster the town’s defences, which
consisted of highly organized units, trained before the war.
Great Trial Begins is a WW1/dieselpunk mod inspired by the likes of Altirus and Delum. It is a world where the progress of technology is slow and the armies are forced to use more outlandish machines to achieve their needs. It’s a place where gas warfare is normal, artillery barrage is mandatory, where the battles are not decided by tanks and aircraft, but by landships and airships.
