IS-7 | Object 260
The IS-7 development began in 1945 after the new requirement for soviet heavy tanks. The is-7 was designed to withstand new german tank destroyers. To prevent infantry swarming the tank they added a total of 8 machine guns. For weighing 68 tons it had excellent maneuverability and speed. But the weight meant they couldn’t transport it on rails at the time and the costs of building each tank was incredibly high and the project was dropped in favor of the T-10.
