Description:

DESCRIPTION

The Aguia Aviation A-41 Puffin is a small turboprop aircraft that was originally designed for single-seat training. However upon acquisition into the Newquay Air Force, its role was supplemented to include light attack & COIN roles. Due to this acquisition, the A-41 Puffin suffered due to its reduced loiter time in comparison to that of an A-32 Banshee, requiring pilots to take care of their flight time and be aware of their throttle to retain fuel efficiency. Acquisition of the A-41 included the addition of hardpoints, a weapon management system, the removal of the rear seat for a larger fuel tank to improve loiter time (note it is still capable of training tasks) & improved avionics including a new HUD & light MFD system.

Due to the A-41 Puffin’s origins as a light trainer however, it has been noted as being extremely easy & safe to fly, and is a highly favoured addition to the Newquay Air Force due to its characteristics.
