Adjustable Diseases
Description
This mod lets you adjust several values of the diseases.
I created this mod that you can choose your own prefered setting with the values which you find useful.
The vanilla system of the light and heavy diseases depends on how the situation of your villagers is in your village:
– varied food status
– warmth status
– defending against wild animals
– herbs availability
– healer’s hut and healer’s shop/hospital availability
– pyre and crypt availability
– expeditions can carry plagues to your village
Adjustable start of the heavy diseases
The heavy diseases which can spread around your villagers are these: plague, rabies
Variola and tuberculosis are not fully integrated into the game yet.
The default vanilla value of the game is after 20 seasons (5th year). One year has 4 seasons.
These are the seasons options:
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, 40, 44, 48, 52, 56, 60, 100
Start of the light diseases
The start or appearance of the light diseases like pneumonia and avitaminosis/scurvy hasn’t been changed. The light diseases can happen at any time to individual villagers related to their warmth status and unbalanced food status.
Adjustable options of the diseases
You can choose the following options for these diseases: plague, rabies, pneumonia, avitaminosis/scurvy
1. enabled (uses the default vanilla values)
2. disabled (disease is disabled)
3. easy (disease is weaker)
4. easier (disease is even more weaker)
5. hard (disease is heavier)
6. harder (disease is even more heavier)
The options change these values:
infectionRadius – The infection radius to nearby villagers.
infectionChance – The chance with which other villagers can be infected.
diseaseChance – The chance with which the disease can happen.
healTime – The time which is needed to heal a villager.
immunityTime – The time which an infected villager will be immune after he has been healed.
If you select a "disabled" option, where the diseases have already broken out and your villagers are infected, then the villagers must still be cured first. However afterwards no more villagers will be infected.

Installation
1. Subscribe to Adjustable Diseases on Steam
2. Start Life is Feudal Forest Village
3. Go into the submenu "Modifications" and activate Adjustable diseases.
4. On the right side of the mod you’ll see a button which you can press to open the "options" menu. If you press within the options screen the button "Standard", then the game will use the standard vanilla values. Choose your options and press "Okay". The options will be remembered and the value will stay until you change it again.
5. Load a save game or start a new game
General hints to avoid plagues and infections (informations from the official Wiki and Steam forum)
Light diseases
The light diseases are treated in the herbalist’s hut and can be healed with herbs.
– Pneumonia (infectious)
Pneumonia is the result of freezing and it is an infectious disease that can spread from a villager to another villager. Your villagers need warm clothing and enough fuel (firewood/charcoal) for homes.
– Avitaminosis/Scurvy (not infectious)
Avitaminosis/Scurvy is a condition of your villagers. It depends on how much and diversed food they have eaten. When your villagers become too hungry, they can die from starvation. The diet of your villagers shall be plentiful and diversified. It will strengthen their health and immunity. If your villagers eat only meat or only vegetables, their health will become weaker, which will lead to frequent diseases.
Heavy diseases
The heavy diseases are treated at the healer’s shop/hospital and herbs from the herbalist’s hut are required.
– Plague (infectious)
Plague is an infectious disease which can be obtained through port building and being infected by expeditions. Also burn the dead villagers on а pyre to minimize the chance of the plague.
– Rabies (infectious)
Rabies can be obtained through infection from wild animals and it is an infectious disease that can be spread from a villager to another villager and also to animals. Make sure that hunters stop wild animals from entering the village and defend your domesticated animals.
General
The herbalist works only in the warm time of the year. It makes sense to stock up as many herbs as possible during the summer, so that the herbs will last through the winter when people get ill more often.
If there are no pyres, villagers are left unburied, which can lead to outbreaks of dangerous diseases. Build pyres to prevent the decomposition of your villagers’ bodies and spreading of diseases.
Expeditions can carry plagues to your village.
