Merc-MX5 "Explorer" (SV Tier 2, Class 1, Unlock level 10)
Role: PVE starter warp drive SV, inexpensive, utility, combat with T3 upgrade.
1/13/2020 – Major update done to ship. The new version is a complete refit and starts at CPU tier 2 but made to upgrade to Tier 3. It has many new features, new interior, and many body changes. This update includes:
1. Ships thrusters all reworked with new flight model. Most all thrusters have been moved or changed.
2. All RCS removed
3. Re-skinned and tweaked hull and colors, some block changes
4. Built a new interior with 10K storage and 1.5K ammo storage
5. Added drone hatch, Wifi, Detector
6. Changed landing gear. Ship now is 1 block taller
7. Designed ship to be upgraded to tier 3 with instruction LCD inside
8. Tier 3 upgrades include: Shield, constructor, 2 generators, 2 T3 CPU blocks, 2 Gatling Guns, 4 rocket launchers.
9. Strengthened front area of ship as well as added an armored cockpit
10. Increased thruster power especially for lift. It is quicker than it once was
11. 100% CPU Compliant at tier 2 and tier 3 with added parts
12. Updated stat screens to reflect changes as well as some new screen shots near the end picture section.
13. This ship stock lost 1 constructor and 2 gatling guns at tier 2, but flies better, and is very easy to update to a shielded more combat worthy design over the original.
I am very happy with how this refit version came out and feel it is a much better ship with more features than it used to have + got tweaked out visually. I hope you enjoy!
The Merc-MX5E is an inexpensive exploration SV that is fuel efficient and set up for long range missions. It is not the fastest or the thoughest ship (Steel Hull) but provides a deluxe utility/crafting area with most everything you may need for long missions. It also has internal cockpit access, 360 degree spot lights, 4 gattling guns, and 4 additional weapon mount points.
Features summary:
1. Unlocks at player level 10
2. Requires no rare materials
3. 2 constructors, 2 fidges, armor rack, 15 large storage boxes, 2 ammo boxes
4. Oxygen and o2 dispensor (Yes it actually has one now 🙂
5. Automatic lights/doors/ramps
6. 4 Gattling guns and 4 additional weapon mount points
7. Inexpensive and fuel efficient.
8. Warp Drive
9. Passanger seat
*This ship requires Alpha 8. It will not be able to spawn in alpha 7.x.
