Description:

Nothing Good Ever Comes of Violence.

Welcome to this new skin mod depicting skins of the middle ages, specifically of an English soldier and a Scottish soldier; both requested by the honorable Plastic Scot.

I am no real historian on the middle ages, the closest I have is a copy of the Canterbury Tales and Oakeshott’s book on medieval swords – and therefore I am not guaranteeing any sort of historical authenticity. This mod also employs the use of metallic maps to get the armor to appear shiny, this should not impact performance adversely – at least, I haven’t noticed any performance impact. These skins also make use of much more smooth shading than my previous skins, probably due to the nature of all of the armor.

Medieval English Soldier
  • This young warrior is sporting chainmail, some full-fledged protection on his nether region, one of those fancy helmets which inspired the Brodie helmet, a Type XA sword in his sheath, and a red cloak with the three lions of English military fame.

Medieval Scottish Soldier
  • Inspired by his fellow kinsmen to take up arms against those red-cloak’d bands of madness, this infantryman takes up his sword and boasts the same lower armor as his counterpart – however, instead of a helmet he has instead chosen to rely on chainmail wrapped over his noggin. His cloak is yellow with the Lion Rampant symbol blazoned upon it.

  • Plastic Scot for requesting these skins to be made
  • The three English lions are from Plantagenet Reenacting Society[www.plantagenet.org.uk]‘s website, with minor changes
  • Scottish Rampant Lion is from Flag Center[www.flagcenter.com], with minor changes
  • The chainmail texture was made by jojo-ojo[www.deviantart.com]
  • For other medieval skins, I would strongly encourage looking at Spades‘ content
