Godslayer Overhaul by Mortrau (4.0 UPDATE RELEASED)
Hi everyone! This is the Godslayer aka Daniel overhaul. I was disappointed when he was introduced, because he looks like some kind of filler for future work. I didn’t want to wait, so decided to make Godslayer interesting to play. My main goal was to achieve an RPG-feeling during walkthrough.
Here is a list of major features of this mod.

Now you can dedicate your cities to Chaos Undivided. Yes, this is a new 5th choice introduced in 4.0, at last.
Another 4.0 major change: monogod cities now have 2 variants – for daemons (default) and for mortals. For second option you can rebuild capital sturcture and change city type or just capture t2+ settlements, they can be already built for mortals. So now you have access to full chaotic roster, but need to plan carefully what exactly to build in certain situations. Undivided cities are always for mortals (they do not have daemon units except base furies).
Faction leader have access to horde buildings with full daemonic roster. It helps with early game economy. This allows you to change your gameplay from turn 1 drastically using rifts.
The most interesting part here is tzeentchian manifestation that allows you to make rifts (like Be’lakor) and travel around the world. You can get free uses of them by defeating daemonic armies. And your starting settlement is controlled by the tzeentchian forces, so you can get your first free rift at turn 1. With horde mechanic it allows you to start playing almost anywhere you wish. I added some new rifts here and there for this purpose. Need to mention one minor change – Khorne and Nurgle manifestations were buffed a little.
All lords have access to "raze and advance" occupation option similar to beastmen one. Legion of Chaos is here for ruination and mortal souls. Yes, for razing settlements of mortals you can get souls.
New resource. Godslayer’s armies gain souls for slaying mortal units (daemons do not have souls!). You need them to upgrade horde buildings and for your final dedication (4.0 change). So do not spend too much time fighting other daemons, your goal is to ruin mortal realm after all.
Technically you can get access to almost all units of chaotic roster. But firstly you need to unlock them via glory. So your starting army could be unreplacable for a while. All daemons are available in horde buildings and for undivided dedication line. All dedication lines have some exclusive high tier mortal units including chosen. But last guys can be also obtained by warband upgrade mechanic.
Allows you to upgrade some of your experienced units to higher tier units of same type (for example chaos warriors to chosen). Or change weapon type regardless of exp. Also this is the only way to get aspiring champions.
Mortal chaos lords and some heroes are available for recruiting. Heroes can be unlocked via glory. Lords can ascend to Daemon Princes.
WARNING! For new mortal heroes you will need Mixer mod!
Godslayer’s "tech tree" is a mix of his own skills and glory boons. So they were fully reworked and standartized.
You need more daemonic glory points to complete your way to dedications compared to vanilla. It allows to add more items and make them usable a bit longer before obsoleting.
-30 debuff for relations with WoC factions. You are here to challenge Be’lakor and Archaon, ruin this world and claim godhood. Some item sets could also affect your diplomatic standings.

All vanilla parts were remade and rebalanced, dozens of new abilites, items and item sets were added (look for brand new ones introduced in 4.0!). Because of overlapping items in different sets it could be not so easy to find all of them in UI. Old-school pixelhunting skills could help. But the main part of this overhaul (and a most weighted one) is a visual redesign (you can check it at screenshots). Most of new items have fully unique designs, also tons of minor changes here: handles, aligning and resizes for shields; aligning grip for 2-handers (still weird models of swords with huge handle but it is because of vanilla animation that I can’t change due to lack of skill); rid of identical or almost identical designs; rid of horribly ugly designs; all unique designs from Mirror of Madness were used in one way or another. I do not have best skills in making portholes and icons for daemon parts combinations, so there could be minor visual issues I guess.

Since mod at last does not have any datacored tables I do not know what to expect from using global overhauls – feel free to investigate this. It should be compatible with skill overhauls and roster mods, but I don’t know what behavior to expect (depends on mod load priority I guess). Visual mods that do not affect Daniel are fully compatible I guess.
Victory Conditions Overhaul (VCO) is fully compatible. Also I guess Hecleas Grand Strategy too (at least if you play as the Godslayer), because it is still vanilla faction, not a custom one.
4.0 version of mod is not save compatible with old versions!
I highly recommend to use Marthenil’s Daniel painter mod (my screenshots were made with it): https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2800411017.
Also if you tired of classic ost for chaos factions you need to try this diamond – Thrones of Depravity by Eric Gordon Berg:
