Victorian Inequality
This mod changes the pop_types files to reduce the wage weight of all middle and lower class pops. For example, the wage weight of Clergyman in base Victoria is 3, which means their wage (in the same building) should be about half of Aristocrats’ (with wage factor 6). In the mod, this weight is reduced to 1.5 for Clergyman, meaning they should only receive about a quarter of the Aristocrat wages instead of half.
All other lower and middle class wages are reduced similarly. Aristocrat and Capitalist wage weights are not changed, but since the other wages should be reduced thanks to lower weight, they’ll concentrate more wealth. This helps better simulate the income inequalities of the Victorian era, and has important effects on your political landscape and your ability to increase SoL of your lower strata. It also makes abolishing the upper class even more dramatic in its effects.
Use this mod if you want the game simulation to follow more closely the real world in terms of inequality, and empower the upper classes’ and their political desires accordingly.
