Formal Description

With the luxurious art deco interiors found on ships of the 1930s and a sleek imposing exterior reminiscent of ships of the 1950s, S.S. Starling is Pennontarios state of the art ocean liner. Why choose luxury over speed, or stability over size, when you can maximize all in one single ship. That was my vision when creating Starling. She is 76 meters long and 13.75 meters wide, a third larger than Penno’s other liner Grackle. She’s not the biggest liner by any means, but she is certainly an imposing ship to say the least. Her wonderful 1930s inspired art deco interiors consist of a grand entrance, dining saloon, and a pool. Not to mention her exclusive “Murmuration Theatre” and “Redwing Lounge.” Luxurious cabins and plenty of deck space will make sailing on Starling a very pleasant experience. She is made to be fast, powerful and efficient. Her power plant consists of one small firebox powered boiler, which seems dinky, until you realize it does a plenty good job of powering her 6 steam turbines fast enough to get her up to speeds of 57 knots. Her fastest speed ever recorded was 170 knots during trials. Like a loon across a lake her maximum draft of 4m is reduced to half once she’s at speed. Her stability is really good with her active stabiliser active. She is able to stay righted even when being broadsided by a tsunami! Her boiler is exceptionally safe. It is a fully closed loop system so no water is ever depleted. Starling’s advanced propulsion plant gives her an estimated range of at least 500 km. Her turbine bypass valve keeps the pressure at only 0.5 bar, if anything goes wrong it can be shut down and completely controlled from the bridge, eliminating the need for crew down in the engine room in case of an emergency.
She has 17 watertight compartments, and enough motorized lifeboats for 40 people, more than enough. She is extremely optimised for multiplayer.

Have a nice day!!
