DESCRIPTION

The HC150 "Archangel" is a intermeshing rotor CSAR (Combat Search And Rescue) helicopter designed for rapid extraction of personnel from hot zones. The origin of the HC150 was a contract given to NordahlLunden by the NAAC (Newquay Army Air Corps) to build a VTOL aircraft to serve in a CSAR role with emphasis on speed and survivability.
The design incorporated a intermeshing design to save on LOA but the requirement for a double drivetrain forced the HC150 to settle on a single engine. HC150 is equipped with a number of subsystems to assist in its mission of locating and extracting personnel, mainly a long range and high FOV search radar and a double winch rescue harness.
