Take What You Need

This mod alllows crew to take battery of any size from reactor’s battery buffer and power storages.

In the base game, batteries can have 3 different sizes, each size with more energy stored than the previous one.

• The small reactor’s battery buffer always give battery of size 1 (1000 energy)
• The medium reactor’s battery buffer always give battery of size 2 (2000 energy)
• The large reactor’s battery buffer always give battery of size 3 (3000 energy)
• The power storage always give battery of size 1 (1000 energy)

In some cases, if crew are limited to batteries of size 1 only, it can lead to more crew getting busy to carry the batteries, slowing down some path in your ship.
Whereas conversely, if crew are limited to batteries of size 3 only, it can lead to a waste of energy at the battery destination and empty too quickly for nothing a reactor’s battery buffer.

With this mod, crew will now take battery of size 1, 2 or 3 according to their needs. And it works for all base game reactors and power storage. It works also for some modded parts (see below).

Note that the reactors are still balanced in the way crew can take only battery already generated in the reactor’s battery buffer. So if the crew need a battery of size 3 but none or less is available, they have to wait the time needed for the reactor to generate theses batteries.
Small reactor remains slower than large reactor, the ballance didn’t change.

This mod don’t make reactor more powerful, the power generation rate is not modified !

The mod is updated for the game version "0.27.xx".

This mod just change some parts settings that is not stored in your saves. So it can be removed safely at any time without any risk to broke your saves 🙂

There is litterally no text in this mod, so nothing to translate.

If you make a mod and want to add your reactors and power storages to "Take What You Need", you have two solutions :

• Ask me to do it here in the comment section. But be aware that I will do it when I have enought time, so sometimes it can be a bit long (sorry).
• You can go on GitHub and fork the repository of "Take What You Need", then you can add all what you need in the branch `develop`. Afterwards you just need to make a push request and I will accept it.

Of course it is faster for me to accept a push request on GitHub than adding your parts myself, but if you don’t know how to do, it is ok, just ask me 🙂

If you find a bug, leave a comment here or open an "issue" on GitHub (easier to explain the problem and provide some log and error message), I will fix it as soon as possible.
