Necrofex variant – Shrapnel Cannon
A standalone variant of the Necrofex, with it’s tri-barrel cannons packed full of gunpowder and waste munitions to act as a terrifyingly large blunderbuss. Firing a huge volley of projectiles, it absolutely saturates dense infantry with shot & poisons those left standing. Because of its more limited range and the direct nature of its fire, it will suffer in sieges and at poor angles. Unlike the rocket variant, this Necrofex suffers no such fragility and is more than capable of following up in close combat when provided adequate support.
Recruitable from the same buildings as the regular Necrofex, this variant is ideal for a more aggressive playstyle.
Because of the nature of DPS calculations in the shown unit stats (over ten seconds), any burst fire weapons will display a massively inflated DPS in their damage stats. Please don’t be alarmed, the effective applied DPS is much lower.
Be aware that at the current time, it’s not possible to do (at least for me) any edits, simple or advanced, to the variantmesh of the Necrofex colossus. Like the Steam Tank, it’s a complex entity with a lot of things going on under the hood that I don’t have the information to make sense of. As such, variants will still look the same as the regular – it’s only their means of ranged attack that changes. In keeping with this, any ranged variant will be one that makes some sort of sense to come out of the triple-barrel.
