Description:

Appleloosa’s got a new toy

Okay, that aside, here’s a new gun for you to play around with. The Model 1861 Springfield, finally the game has a percussion cap-style musket in. Thanks to this feller known as Shadow Lord for giving me some pointers on how to get the hammer to stay closed after firing.

The famous American Civil War-era musket employed by the good guys, now with smooth shading as it looks nice on guns. I completely trashed the new animations, so I don’t know if this’ll be updated anytime soon, but the old set is on before that got yeeted, not sure how to revert on Blender without autosave but oh well, you make mistakes and learn from them.

Information
  • Includes one weapon, the Springfield Model 1861. It’s found in the Marksman, Black Powder, and Civil War tabs
    • Disclaimer: Please do not use the musket as a marksman instrument
  • 195 damage
  • High knockback, because a musket ball is pretty big
  • 59 cartridges in reserve
  • 14 second reload

Addons:

What’s next? Enfield P1853, 1805 Harper’s Ferry, and then I guess I’ll have to model a Dreyse Needle Gun (and Chassepot + Klein), but that’s going to take a decent while. Maybe the trapdoor Springfield since I wouldn’t need to change a whole bunch.

Discord

Yes, I have a Discord. I post various status updates and it’s just all-around a spiffy little place with emotes and other stupid stuff. You can make suggestions and stuff as well, or just chat, whichever is your thing.
