Description:

The K2 Black Panther (Hangul: K2 ‘흑표’; Hanja: K2 ‘黑豹’) main battle tank evolved from the XK2 programme. This next-generation MBT was developed in South Korea using indigenous technology only. Its development began in 1995, designed to meet the strategic requirements of the Republic of Korea Army’s reform for three-dimensional high-speed maneuver warfare based on use of network-centric warfare began in the 1990s.
