Description:

Compatible with 1.27

In an alternate, fantastical version of Earth, there resides a nation known as the Nesarian Empire, first declared in the 1st century BC. After conquering its current territory, it largely kept to itself, but as the medieval era comes to an end, the sleeping Nesarian giant begins to wake. In the following centuries, it conquered a vast empire which stretched from Armenia to Manchuria and Kazakhstan to India, although it would all come crashing down in the 20th century with the First World War.

The land the Nesarian Empire resides in is unlike anything else on Earth, its diverse and unnatural geography thought to be created and sustained by magic, and the creatures that inhabit it are also totally unique, again thought to be magical – although the ability to wield magic disappeared centuries ago, despite the best efforts of the Elves.

Gameplay-wise, the Nesarian Empire has somewhat overpowered ideas but these are balanced through negative events and a serious handicap at the start. It is well-situated to expand eastward, but viable westward expansion is limited.

No DLC is required but Dharma is highly recommended to access the government reforms.

Note: The mission to restore the Byzantine Empire is a very challenging goal designed for more experienced players. Newer players will find it difficult to complete.

Feedback is greatly appreciated as this is my first mod, if you have any concerns regarding balance or suggestions for new ideas please comment them.

Once I have got this mod fully up and running (in that I have exhausted every potential idea) I may begin work on a full conversion based around this fantasy region. This mod is essentially training me for the much larger project of a total conversion.

Planned features/changes, in order of priority:
-Add more auxiliaries, add more stuff to do with auxiliaries estate
-Add more discovery events
-Make map look more natural (will need help for this as I am no artist)
-Add Nesarian Civil War disaster
-Add icons for Osdarthian Republic factions
-Improve quality of Elvetan deity icons
-Add in historical monarchs for Bulgaria and Greece

Mods that change the following WILL conflict with this and most likely crash:
-The map
-Technology
-Institutions
-Estates
-Historical diplomacy (only some nations have changed diplomacy but it is better to be safe than sorry)
-Decisions
-The start screen
-Religions and religion icons (although this probably won’t cause a crash)
-Starting bookmarks
-CB types

Note that if a mod simply adds one of these features rather than changing the vanilla ones it will not conflict (e.g. a mod that adds new estates but does not change vanilla ones will not conflict).

Unless you are sure it will not conflict, it is best to only use ironman-compatible mods with this mod.

For a fun time type "event xae_events.1" into the console
