Garden Planets to Reclaimed Planets
This is more of a personal preference mod than anything.
When using Story Disabler Quick Start, Garden planets lose much of their uniqueness as they become merely one of multiple planets you can start on. If you pair them with Omeruin’s Grassland Planet mod, they further become generic as the Grassland planet looks very similar to them, but in my opinion does their aesthetic of being a rural world better. They also have competition from Forest planets in terms of being "blossoming worlds full of greenery". I wanted to make them stand out from both of these planets in order to make Garden planets more interesting to visit, so I decided to give them a makeover.
Garden planets already have had a post-post-apocalyptic vibe going on with them due to the many ruined fortress structures that spawned in their surface. So, why not delve further into that style and turn them into post-post-apocalyptic worlds in general? While my planet-editing abilities are extremely minimal and subpar, I’ve done what I could and gave them a reasonably-urbanized parallax and added a few ruined microstructures to their world generation.
As I personally use Maple32, and Bioindustrial planets mesh better with Garden worlds than Decayed planets do, the full intended result is only obtainable if you use the compatibility patch between the two mods. I recommend using Maple32 in general as it’s a really great planet mod, but in the interest of modularity, I’ve made it usable without it as well.
Anything that uses the Garden parallax is going to have ruined buildings showing up in its surface. This is not likely to be a problem in vanilla, but mods that make use of it are going to run into this issue. An example includes Omeruin’s Cosmic Husbandry mod, whose instance world uses the Garden parallax and therefore will look like Lucy built a farm in the ruins of a dead city. Oops…
