Pre-Rome 2 style combat (basically a bootleg of Ancient Empires combat preview, but Charlamagne compatible)
This mod aims to make the game more like the combat preview for Ancient Empires.
I…unfortunately didn’t play it…
Anyways, this mod has
-1HP system. This means overall the weapon itself, unless a spear, is less important combat-wise.
-The fact it’s in beta. If you don’t like the mod or an aspect, feel free to mention it (don’t be rude or you will be ignored. If you have anger, take it out on the Huns instead.)
-This also makes the levies spammed levies the AI believes is the next coming in unit form in the early game die faster from elites.
-One shot crossbows! No, seriously, this is a temporary thing, but I do see them being the highest damage missile weapon. As well, missile weapos are a bit sketchy balance-wise currently. Bring lots of bows, and please report your experience with these, as these are hard weapons to balance.
Planned Updates & gray areas:
-Close attention on missile weapons
-Nerfing items such as stationary tetsudo and mobile tetsudo which offer a bonus against Cav and infantry if there’s a demand to. I’m putting it here so someone who actually reads the description will know I’m looking for feedback on this.
This only changes weapons and health, as I know me messing around in other areas would be worse than a nuclear winter.
Also if you are like me and didn’t play the original Combat preview, do NOT judge it based on this mod: the mod also has cavalry editions of weapons, not so overpowered crossbows (they are really strong here, actually) and much more such as changes to the morale, fatigue & stats which I really don’t know where to start when it comes to that. Look at the description of the combat preview for more.
Also the usual "if original creators want it down, I’ll take it down" yada, yada, yada, you get the point.
After Ancient Empires comes out, this mod will still be updated, though realistically I see people gravitating towards Ancient Empires.
