Description:

Story :
In 1931, a private urban planning competition was launched with twelve architects, to redevelop the axis extending the Champs-Élysées from Étoile to La Défense via Porte Maillot. Among these projects, that of the architect Henri Sauvage, in 1931, comprising two "pylons" of terraced dwellings dominating the square, delimited by conventional buildings, and designed according to the rules of composition in vogue during this period, seeing the triumph of Art Deco. This project was nicknamed Toblerone de la Porte Maillot after the famous chocolates.
