Description:

Please read the mod description for some very important information.

Upon hearing the Proselytes’ idle chatter, Alma’s monstrous form shuffles deeper into the dark alleys of District 12’s Backstreets. She’s found a way out for him.

Opening Words & Mod Description

Why hello there Ruina community, haven’t seen you since the Nexus days. Nearly 2 years in production, this will be my biggest and final mod for Library of Ruina: An actual reception mod.

The Patchwork Echelon is an Impurity reception, accessible on the map after Hana has been defeated. Even though the plot takes place after Hana and before The Black Silence, it’s meant to be an endgame challenge, so every page accessible post-game should be considered fair game here. However, it is more than possible to beat with Hana gear and below, without attribution, so feel free to take up on that challenge if you so wish.

Nevertheless, this mod is a thank you to everyone in the PM community for being cool kids these past few years. I made this with love, created this story out of thin air, and I hope you can enjoy it. :^)

In case the map icon breaks for some people, the book combination for the reception is:
Book of Something + Book of an Index Proselyte + Book of Hubert.

(For maximum immersion, please don’t use any instakill effects from modded pages in the 2nd Act, like Shi Section 1, for example.)

Contents

– 1 new Impurity level reception.
– 6 new Key Pages from a new faction with an intricate playstyle.
– 11+ new obtainable Combat Pages.

MAQ (Maybe-gonna-be Asked Questions) (Please Read)

Q: "Another chess reception? Really?"
A: It’s a coincidence, I swear! This idea was made way before the conception of LoR’s Steam Workshop, the development process was just a very slow burn. Besides, I’m sure Hat doesn’t mind. :^)

Q: "Wtf is Vigor?"
A: It’s the Damage Up buff from basegame LoR. Only Le Regole uses it, and I feel like "Damage Up" is not in line with base game wording (Strength, Endurance, etc), so I just renamed it. If you don’t like the rename, Bucket has made a patch to revert it here.

Q: "Why is the Debug Console a prerequisite?"
A: It’s not necessary for the mod to function. However, there has been a very rare bug popping up on some people’s devices in the beta version that disables the localization due to faulty references, which is fixed by simply downloading another mod with these references, which the debug console suffices. Besides, it doesn’t hurt to install it.

Q: "Are there any incompatible mods?"
A: I cannot guarantee compatibility with any form of BaseMod for Workshop. Second, if you see texts not showing up, check to see if any mods messes up with Localization Manager. Previously there was a mod taking LM’s dll and putting it into the mod folder, which is not what’s supposed to be done, and it just messed up everything that uses Localization Manager.

Q: "Why does the health bar of enemies get screwed up after I finish the reception and move to another one?"
A: Currently I am unable to replicate this bug, however I have seen people with this particular bug. The fix is really easy, just quit the game and open it again.

Q: "I’m using a modded floor, and the Patron Librarian isn’t recognized, what do I do?"
A: Currently the mod has compatibility support for Da’at (Ayin Keter doesn’t actually need compatibility support since it uses the same default page for the Patron). If there’s an unsupported mod that modifies the default page for the Patron, so let me know in the comments or via DMs. (Macrosis#6649 on Discord)

Q: "What should I expect? What should I bring?"
A: If you want to attempt the reception blindly, feel free to skip this part, but below will be a list of light hints on teambuilding and what to expect:

  • Expect strong Ranged attacks. Bring some Ranged countermeasures (strong singular dice, Argalia, etc)
  • Act 1 is very weak to mass attacks. Characters like Xiao, Red Mist, or Yan helps a ton.
  • You might wanna focus on keeping your Patron alive in Act 2.
  • Arm up 2 floors instead of 1. The fight’s design does not allow you to one-floor the fight..
  • Please read everything carefully 🙂

BONUS: Not a hint, but fun fact, Act 2 can be solo’d, as weird as it may seem. Figure out how, as a bonus challenge.
