Isle Fortuna – Tropical Caribbean Outpost
Crossing the high seas into the depths of the Caribbean lies this gem of an oceanic oasis. For centuries, the island possessed a strange attractiveness that allured ill-fated sailors into its rocky bays. Over the course of the 20th century, however, the island was settled and transformed into a small ocean outpost with dozens of occupying forces using the land as reconnaissance posts. Near the end of the Cuban missile crisis, the Soviets were the last military to occupy the island, and as such their fortifications have remained ever since.
Island Features
Isle Fortuna’s most prominent feature is its towering lighthouse built upon a spire of rock at the highest point of the main island. Its placement is key in the region to prevent more ships from succumbing to the dangers of its shallow waters.
The island also features a small community near the embankment between the north and south portions, an old war bunker, a radio tower, and several outposts scattered near the southern shores.
Don’t get too adventurous
An unspoken rule of the settlers on Fortuna is as clear as day: never venture to the western island. Many explorers sought discovery and treasures on the islet that seemed to belong to natives from centuries prior, but many either returned permanently unhinged or were never seen again. You have been warned.
