What this mod does:


This mod makes the level of generals and their colour negligible for recruiting units.

All generals, regardless of their level and colour can recruit any unit. However in the spirit of older Total War games, all units that have previously been locked behind the general rank are now locked behind a tech or a building.

Example:
Originally you could recruit "unit1" only with level 5 stretegist.
Now you can recruit this unit with any general provided you have researched the required tech or built the required building.
If the unit was previously only recruitable by higher tier general, it is locked behind appropriately high technology or building level.

The game properly shows unlockable units in the tech and building descriptions and you can see all unawailable units with their requirements in recruitment window if you tick the "show unawailable units".

I originally planned to make the units only recruitable directly from the buildings, like in the previous Total Wars, but alas it is not possible or at least it is beyond my abilities. Thus your general does not have to stand in the province with the required building. Having built the building somewhere in your empire is enough for you to recruit the unit.

Bonus

Xiongnu Yuan Shao FIX
– Xiongnu Cavalry and Xiongnu Cataphracts are now available to Yuan Shao as they should be.

Fantasy units removed
– I took the liberty and made all nanman tiger units and Sun Ce’s handmaid guard unit unavailable as they are unhistorical. I might be persuaded to separate this feature from this mod if there is a demand.

Compatibility


Not compatible with any mod that edits campaign_unit_permission_requirements_tables and units_to_groupings_military_permissions_tables.
