Random HN expansion mod (with heretic burning AI)
This mod adds Holy Church as a faction. They own the temples and burning pyres. Oh yeah, there’ll be pyres in HN locations, it’s generally safe unless you’re really sinful but s-serendipity! Is what we love about Kenshi.
There are two key components here. 1, was a challenge to myself to build an AI that would burn heretic. A heretic is either someone with a large bounty, or other especially bad people. The priest shall "visit" the prison in the morning, and if anyone there is bad enough, you go on the pyre. You can view a demo (I just tested it) by starting in Stack, then following the priest who will leave the temple, or you can forget about it and wait for some fun situation to be generated.
This is a safe for kids version where Rebirth slaves won’t get express rebirth (they shouldn’t), except the really bad people, Moll would totally be burned for example (if the priest sees her). Obvious karmic justice potential by burning the priest on his own conveniently placed pyres.
You’re welcome to study how I made the AI in the mod sources, or to modify it and then posting it as your own, if people consume your version better then so be it.
The 2nd component, which I’m enjoying myself and why I’ll even post this, are the random talks by the priest and some other characters. I felt that it was fitting to the situation often, for example, after I was searched and entered the city, I met a priest who gave me a remark like "such is life Sister".
Is this it? IDK, I know the burning pole mod is gone but I’ve merged it here, it’s just a building even though I’ll admit I didn’t know about "building parts" before seeing it. There is a "better" version if you search but I say I’ve made the better large fire than the other guy (in the original it’s this funny slow roast which isn’t bad, it’s too bad their limbs fall off on a pyre but oh well).
I’m putting random images from my windows pictures folder, and what you see is a Jainist priest, it fits because it’s religious. You’ll have to install to see the new fire animation, maybe just get on a pyre yourself (you’ll actually be freed by the priest if he’s near). Hail Narko.
I might consider adding more talk and AI activity, for example, they’ve got this circle of torches in the church. I’ll actually take ideas if you want to speak up.
