About Hooveric Overhaul (HVO)

○ Unit Rework

  • Some units have been reworked for balancing, lore-friendly, etc. The unit sizes of the Grail Knights and Blood Knights have become smaller and High Elves cavalry resist fatigue.

○ New Roster

  • Adds new agents/units to some factions. It will usually not affect the entire race. This mod is designed so that each sub-faction has its own unique gameplay rather than adding a large number of common units.
  • For example, the Wargrove of Woe (Drycha) faction has the all-new Wood Elf unit roster instead of the vanilla roster. They look more like they are being controlled by Drycha’s magic.
  • There’s a submod that disables this feature.
(It doesn’t disable all elements for technical and balance reasons.)

○ Charge Mechanic

  • The collision calculation equation has been tweaked. Increased collision damage and chance of cavalry breaking through the opponent’s ranks. It makes the normal cavalry (that have no anti-large or armour-piercing) more valuable.
  • The cavalry can pierce the opponent’s front ranks when they charge, But this happens only when the attacker’s mass must be much higher than the defender’s mass and the defender have no charge-defence. This means there is a risk that the cavalry will be surrounded in the middle of the enemies because the fallen infantry will get up soon.
  • There’s a submod that disables this feature.

○ Combat Balancing

Setting & Compatibility

○ The mod includes a startpos.esf file but it’s not important. If you place another startpos mod above the HVO in the mod Manager, it will work properly.
○ This mod modifies various elements from vanilla. unit, building, research, etc. But it is almost similar to vanilla, it will not be incompatible with other mods in most cases.
○ If you are wondering if this mod is compatible with a particular mod, read the details above and check whether the mod modifies the same element. of course, it won’t be compatible with a big overhaul mod.
○ I think the mods related to Graphic, AI, Diplomacy, and Events will be compatible without problems.
○ Compatible with Mixu Unlocker mod. Place it above this mod in the mod manager.
