Description:

The other day I was looking on the workshop for a mod that added in the culture of the Ancient Egyptians (and nothing else) and I, surprisingly couldn’t find any standalone culture mods ( with the exception of Emmanuel et Pierre’s Coptic Culture mod, which is worth checking out), so this mod is meant to fill that void.

This mod adds the culture (and two religions) of the Ancient Egyptians into the ruler designer, with a name list based off of the entirety of the Ancient Egyptians Personal name list found on Wikipedia (Save for a few Kushite names on there).

Update – This mod now includes the Coptic culture (which appears throughout egypt in 876, and remains in Aswan
in 1066).
– The Kemetic culture now has a custom tradition: Pyramid Builders! – Build pyramids in counties throughout Egypt, with buffs to local development and tax!
– It is now possible (as a ruler with very high learning in the region of Egypt) to start an event chain through decisions that may lead to the rediscovery of ancient Egyptian language and culture!
– There are two ancient Egyptian faiths accessible through the ruler designer (Kemetic and Atenist faiths).

To Do:

– More research on the bronze age egyptians
– Separation of the kemetic names list into Predynastic, Old kingdom, Middle kingdom and New kingdom (Demotic)
names.
– Decisions and an event chains to bring back the Ancient Egyptian religion as a ruler in Egypt.

DISCLAMER

– This mod is lightly researched, I have no backround in Egyptology and based everything in this mod off of basic online sources.

– This mod is incompatible with any mods that also edit the 00_kushitism.txt file (the mod may work, however the ancient egyptian religion will not appear).

– I’ve decided to put any plans of custom clothing on hold for now, as doing so would necessitate modifying the file for all clothing in game, rendering it incompatable with any mods that also add custom clothing – and necessitating regular updates to the file to make it work with the base game. (If I’m wrong here, which would be great, please let me know!)
Anyone may use this mod’s assets, and any criticism is apreciated!

– UPDATE – There were quite a few gamebreaking problems present in the previous update, all of which since should be fixed.
