Description:

This faction mod has the goal of making some of the Fallout factions, primarily from New Vegas and Fallout 4, usable in Arma 3.

Raiders-

Raiders, sometimes called bandits are a general term for roaming bands and gangs of individuals in the Wasteland, stealing, killing and pillaging from other, more established communities in the Wastes. Many of them display psychopathic behaviors or are drug addicts, and because they have been exiled from wider society their roaming bands tend to rely on stolen equipment and supplies.
Raiders themselves may act individually, in small groups or as larger organisations, with some being large enough to run extortion rackets or have de-facto control over other settlements in the Wasteland.
The reasons for why Raiders act so psychopathically while the rest of the population of the Wasteland does not is not known, but some theories include some sort of radiation affected Kuru found in affected brain tissue, and contracted via cannibalism.

As a result of their lack of higher level supplies and support compared to larger and more structured organisations the technological variance within Raider groups is significant depending on location, numbers and skill of the group. Many of them have home-made armour or protective masks though, and some of the more close combat orientated units such as the heavy shotgunners as well as the Raider Boss have heavy armour. The face shields, hockey masks, gas masks and mesh armour you see on them is all randomised as well, so the units should look different to each other.

Armament wise the Raider forces have a large amount of revolvers and basic pistols for sidearms, and the more common large weapons include single, double or pump-action shotguns, as well as bolt action rifles. Pipe SMG’s based off the Sten Gun are the most common automatic weapon, and they have a few semi-auto rifles or AK’s for more veteran forces. There is no standard sidearms among the Raiders, and anything from sawn-off shotguns, double barrel pistols or more conventional sidearms are used. Optics exist but are very rare.

They do not have many professionally made explosives, with normal grenades being replaced with tin can bombs, and they have some IED’s, tripwires and other traps as well. If you use VCOM AI these will be used against you.

New California Republic Army-

The New California Republic sees itself as a return to the Pre-War ideals of a unified democratic and law-abiding society within the Wasteland. Unlike the more isolationist Enclave, the NCR is an expansionist society, and their access to considerable amount of supplies mean they are one of the few groups in the Wasteland with a complete and organised standing military force, the NCR Army and their supporting groups the NCR 1st Recon and NCR Rangers.

NCR infantry forces are standardised when possible, and armed with Service Rifles based on the AR platform whenever possible, but if those are unavailable or if they have specialist roles they will use locally manufactured weapons. The NCR standard uniform is Tan fatigues with helmets and thickened leather body armour and commanders can be easily identified by Berets, which are common among the higher ranks. The NCR Infantry’s primary sidearms are M1911’s or Browning High Powers.

The NCR 1st Reconnaissance Battalion is an elite unit within the NCR Army, and they are specialist scouts and snipers. Their motto is ‘The last thing you never see’, showing their pride in their scout-sniper abilities. Their signature item is a red beret, and because of their elite status they have access to more advanced weapons such as Marksman Carbines with optics as well as sniper rifles. NCR 1st Recon and Rangers carry the .357 Magnum as a sidearm instead of M1911’s or Browning High Powers.

Independent Settlers-

With the Great War of 2077 destroying a national society, a huge number of people across the United States are either working fully independently of major groups like the NCR, in their own towns and settlements, or being semi-nomadic travellers for hire, with Mercenaries often travelling for a free and providing escort services to more tempting Raider targets, such as established towns or trade routes. These settlers will usually have banded together to to living in a close proximity, but is it also known that sometimes they form independent federations of towns united together, often centred around a core community who provide technology or support to the communities around it for mutual protection. Settlers usually do not have load-bearing vests or body armour, instead having simple gun belts.
Settler armament varies, and there is no standardisation as it is personally bought by the citizen, but include 9MM pistols, Browning High Powers, M1911’s and .357 Magnums, with a few SMG’s, double-barrel shotguns and rifles in limited use.

Settlers, farmhands, caravaneers and other independent civilians are not well armed, relying on the town defences itself for protection or hired mercenaries. Mercs are armed with better equipment, including more access to leather and metal body armour, compared to most settlers or travelers. Merc armament is of higher quality than basic settlers due to their greater chance for combat, and includes bolt action rifles, SMG’s and pump-action shotguns.

Vault Dwellers-

Vault Dwellers are people who survived the Great War by retreating inside giant underground shelters. Unlike most groups, the ordinary Vault citizens are totally unarmed, relying on the Vault Security officers to protect them inside the Vaults themselves, as they are usually sealed against the outside world. If broken into by an attacking force, the Vault Security forces are able to deploy heavier armed and armoured officers wearing Vault Security armour and carrying semi-automatic Carbines in an attempt to salvage the situation.

Gunners-

The Gunners are a mercenary and paramilitary gang in the Wasteland, but have substantial access to body armour, higher quality weapons and have standardised OD Green uniforms, making them a more difficult enemy than the Raiders. They are armed with a mix of shotguns, 45. caliber SMG’s and rifles, supported by heavy machineguns and sniper rifles.

Utah 80’s-

The Utah 80’s are a motorised gang that control Utah’s motorways and highways, and have been known to establish forts out of scavenged vehicles and tyres, from which they run extortion rackets on passing caravans and traders, and they act as a vehicle mounted raider group with a low infantry presence but better access to vehicles, including vehicle mounted weapons, than any other faction. They are armed with bolt-action rifles, shotguns and a small number of automatics, and have tin-can bombs and satchel bombs for explosives. They are a mentioned-only faction from Honest Hearts, known to be in conflict with the White Legs.

Oh, before anyone asks- The Settlers, Mercenaries and Vault Dweller factions are INDEP side factions, because they way they can fight the NCR or Raiders and vice-versa, rather than making them count as Civilians who are not attacked by AI by default.

All of the Fallout Factions have full Editor, Zeus, MCC, VCOM AI, RPG_Tard AI, ASR_AI and ALiVE support (faction names are O_Raiders , B_NCR , I_Settler ) Also supports ACE3 Medical system. Fallout is a property owned by Bethesda Softworks.
