By the Comet – Post-Battle Oathgold, Devotion, Replenishment, and Encamp Stance Update
Certain Warhammer 1 races, due to design concept at the time in 2016 at release of Warhammer 1, could only get post-battle replenishment as an option against their own race. It was viewed as taking on captives from the defeated, and would make little sense to field undead or orcs as the Empire or Dwarfs. Warhammer 2 made a quality-of-life shift to give every race a more simple and broad reason to replenish after battle by forcing labor, enslaving, eating, or sacrificing. Warhammer 3 continued that design idea forward, but it was never ported backwards to Warhammer 1 races. Warriors of Chaos got post-battle replenishment with the Champions of Chaos update, and Wood Elves very recently got it activated against every race with the +5 winds of magic addition in patch 2.2. The Empire, Bretonnia, Dwarfs, and Norsca are the only races that remain. I was able to get it functional for all except Norsca, so they remain the only race to not have it.
Every version of encampment: such as Fortification, Raiding Camp, Hidden Encampment, Hidden Beneath the Sands, and so forth gave a +10% replenishment rate in Warhammer 1 and 2. Being garrisoned had the same value of +10% and still does in Warhammer 3, however Warhammer 3 dropped the +10% boost and contributed to the overall feeling of low replenishment across the game. I have returned it and boosted it to +15% as there are still some factions such as Dwarfs and Tzeentch who have little to no access to gaining more replenishment. The replenishment cap is +50% so it’s no where close to excessive, but enough that a half-wounded force can be back in the fight in a 3 to 4 turns at most.
Oathgold as a post-battle option has been added to every Dwarf post-battle choice. It’s a small amount, but will allow Dwarfs to accrue the resource like the Empire does with Prestige or Kislev with Devotion. Oathgold is the defining special resources for Dwarfs, and I think they should have a more streamlined access to it beyond small trickles from forges.
Devotion for Kislev both gained from battle and as a post-battle option has been expanded to the following races: Vampire Counts, Greenskins, Wood Elves, Dark Elves, Skaven, Tomb Kings, Vampire Coast, and Ogre Kingdoms. Only applying to Chaos is understandable for Realms of Chaos, but wasn’t futureproof. Katarin is a prime example as Moulder stands at the doorstep with Greenskins, Vampire Counts, Wood Elves, and Ogres to the immediate south.
