"H3Y GUYS, I’M TRUNKEY! WHO 4M I, YUO MIGHT ASK…? N0T IMPORTANT! GET READY FOR SOME MONKEY BUSINESS!"
The Bootleg Beast, Trunkey, is a cartoony rushdown character whose special gimmick is DON’T GET HIT.
He’s one of the fastest workshop characters, and many of his attacks are quick to execute. However, this comes at the cost of being above ultra-lightweight.
Seriously, when playing as Trunkey, you need to be extremely careful, he takes over double knockback from all attacks and anything can kill you above 40%. It’s as easy to KO Trunkey as it is for him to KO you.
NEUTRAL SPECIAL: Trunkey Flies
Fire a moderately fast projectile that hits four times on contact and inflicts Ranno’s Poison. Good for setting up combos.
SIDE SPECIAL: Trunkey’s Stupid Spin Flip Jump + The Trunk Dunk
A unique mobility option similar to Diddy Kong’s side special. Perform a short flip in your chosen direction, and any opponent hit while performing the flip causes Trunkey to perform a strong follow up attack that can spike. If whiffed, he’s immediately sent into a pratfall.
UP SPECIAL: Fly Flight
First, you fired a Trunkey Fly, now, you BECOME a Trunkey Fly!
It’s a decent recovery option in emergencies, that’s about it.
DOWN SPECIAL: Toxic Jumpscare
Lunges demonically at the opponent, inflicting Ranno’s Poison on contact. This move is very powerful and a good mobility tool, but it immediately sends Trunkey into a pratfall right after it finishes. This may result in many a SDs.
