Modular Backpack
– Modular Backpack : Simple backpack with 9 slots for items
– 4 pouch : Medical, Ammo, Mining and Tools adding 6 slots for specific items and buffing their respective category
– Holsters : Rifle and Pistol holsters adding one slots for two handed and one handed firearms (respectively)
– Light : A powerful searchlight mountable on your backpack for an easier exploration of the darkness below (require a battery)
– Monitor : A monitor mountable on your backpack to monitor all of your submarines systems and hulls. Come with an integrated sonar (require a battery)
– Scooter : An underwater scooter mountable on your backpack to gotta go fast (require a battery)
– Ammocrate : Large contraption mountable on your backpack for an easier time looting those heavy wreck ammunition (ammobox)
– Shell Rack : Same as the Ammocrate but for shells
– Rebreather : Large contraption allowing you to breath underwater and to refill up to 2 oxygen tank (require a battery)
– 4 Special Pouches : Ammunition, medical, mining or tools, each one can store up to 6 items related to their specialization. While they can be put in any submarine container’s, they can’t be put IN backpacks and character inventories.
– The weapon holder : has been overrided to allow both weapons and modular backpacks to be put inside. Also, you can now craft, hold and place them anywhere on your sub.
– The vanilla toolbelt : has been overrided to not become irrelevent compared to other modular backpacks. It has now be buffed to increase both your electrical and mechanical skill, as well as massively boosting your repair speed.
– The vanilla decorative workbench : No longer overrided !
As you may already know, mods adding containers like backpacks, crates, storage, etc. shift massively the balance of the vanilla game.
That’s why i added drawbacks to using and filling those backpacks. The most obvious one are the stats change when holding or wearing one. For instance, while the Ammocrate modification allow you to hold up to 6 ammobox at once,
filling it will not only slow you down, but also reduced the effectiveness of all your skills. This is called the encombrance system. To make it short : the more you fill a backpack, the more you will suffer for maluses. And even more than that,
Each modification have properties : following the ammocrate example, it will be very hard to swim fast with it as well as to repair the submarine systems. And don’t think about cheesing the system by holding them in your hands : the effects will still applies.
Of course, even with that, the game may become too easy. So think about those difficulty mods like Barotraumatic and Neurotrauma !
1- Only the basic Modular backpack is buyable and sellable. All other variation are to be crafted
2- You will need a Workbench to customize and craft other modular backpacks
3- All Backpacks can be hold in hands, but maluses still applies when doing so. So be careful
