EraGate – For more Immersive Eras
This mod adds so called gates to some eras, which can either be "opened" by a great person from the next era or take alot of time to tech.
If you progress in time the settler cost and wonder cost from previous eras are increased. For example it´s not possible anymore to build the Pyramids in the Industrial Era (Does not support the DLC wonders!).
The mod also adds more thean 35 new policies which are designed to give small country advantages in getting more Great Person Points and therefore having a faster progress in Tech and Civics.
Gameplay Improvements:
– Simply growing is not the only valid gameplay option anymore
– It´s better to decide early on, if you want to establish a big empire or be a smaller, faster developing country
– You spent more time in each era which brings several improvements:
– The unique Units are a better Improvement for each Civic, they can´t be out-teched so easy
– You (and the AI) have more time to update it´s units
– Use your time whisely, because it´s not possible anymore to build them in later eras (Exception: Use the restoration policy)
– The In-game-Years fit better to your current era (It´s harder to be in the Information era in the 18th century)
– Amenities are more important because you can get allot of Great Persons in return
– Beware if you are culturevating the Gate Civics! You can´t change your goverment for a long time without paying Gold
– The AI uses new mechanics pretty good
