Description:
Works with the latest current version of DeI and the last Patch.

This mod is the DEI version of my previous Best Roman Formations for vanilla (now also updated with the addition of cavalry formations; I recommend use if you play vanilla).

In addition to formations, in this mod, unlike the DEI base, the “Pilum Effect”, as well as the “Javelin Effect”, were actually activated.

These formations can be used by all the major Roman infantry units (including the four factions of Antonius, Lepidus, Octavius and Pompeius) and work both in the campaign and in custom battles.

They provide in-game description (you can see in screens).

The formations present in the mod are these:
Wedge: formation heavily offensive, in which I greatly increased the parameters concerning the melee attack, the weapon damage and attack bonus, and I declined the defense melee and the armour (also for cavalry);
Diamond: formation in which the unit has a disposition a diamond to penetrate into enemy ranks (little less of the wedge) and to increase the thrust of melee attack (little less of the flying wedge) (only for cavalry);
Flying Wedge: formation also it offensive, but less "extreme", in which I attenuated both the "benefits" that the "disadvantages" compared to the classic wedge (also for cavalry);
Hollow square: static defensive formation with a slight decrease in the attack and a slight increase in defense and moral; useful to protect inside the troops lighter or more important (specially artillery);
Square: static defensive formation penalized in attack but with considerable bonus in defense and moral; useful to resist attacks coming from multiple directions;
Attacking Testudo: defensive formation that can move (slow) slightly penalized in attack but with bonus in defense and moral; strong protection against bullets;
Defensive Testudo: classical defensive static formation building penalized in attack but greatly advantaged in defense and moral; strong protection against bullets;
Cavalry Testudo: defensive static formation advantaged in defense and protection against missiles but penalized in attack (only for cavalry);
Shield Wall: static defensive formation slightly penalized in attack but with good defense bonus and morale; useful to withstand a charging enemy front;
Shield Screen: defensive formation that can move (slow) with a slight bonus in attack and a slight penalty in defense;
Pike Wall: defensive formation that can move (slow) with aspects of attack and defense that mediate between the two formations earlier.

This work is save compatible and it should work without problems with any other DEI mod of the workshop.
