Better Brettonian Infantry

Heyo, I reworked this mod a lil after the newest update since it needed to be fixed after Ca’s Brettonia changes. Instead of making them equal to their empire counterparts, I changed it up a little bit.

Melee Infantry:
Swordsman, Swordsman (Shields), Spearman, spearman (shields), and Foot Squires have received stat changes. Much like the original version of this mod, they are modeled after their empire counterparts but this time edited to feel unique. Rather than just copy pasting their numbers, I used the imperial ones as a base and edited the brettonian infantry to be on par with them, but on a defensive side rather than aggressive.

My reasoning for most of these changes is Brettonian infantry have always been meant as meatshields for the cavalry, and while I made this mod specifically to help infantry playstyles out I wanted to preserve that identity but in a different way. Spearmen with shields and Polearms are now front line holders, and should be able to stand their ground long enough for your other units such as archers or Swordsman to flank or perform some type of strategy. Swordsman of both types are now more general and have the ability to hold their own against other forms of infantry, though they are still notably weaker and will need support.

Foot Squires have received the most true buffs, they should now be able to reliably handle many of the other factions units, as aspiring grail knights should.

The exception to this are battle pilgrims, who, in my opinion, are intended to be and best used as your late game main line unit for infantry focused playstyles. So I’ve buffed them a bit to help them fit better in that role. They’re a straight upgrade from men at arms swords and shields (base stats) in almost every stat except Melee DEF. For players who like having an infantry focus, battle pilgrims especially when paired with their Relique are a solid choice.

All in all these changes should make Brettonian troops very good at holding their lines, and it should give infantry focused playstyles a much better chance at holding their own.

Bowmen:
— Standard Archers
Range increased quite a bit
Damaged increased to 18 (5 armor piercing)

–Pox and Fire
Both pox and fire have been left alone, aside from a very slight range increase.

My reasoning for these changes is, I feel pox and fire arrows are already in a good place and have their uses. However, in contrast the standard archers quickly lose any value once pox and fire are unlocked. To counter this and give standard archers a bit more of a reason to stick around in the long run, I’ve increased their damage and given them a bit more armor piercing, and increased their range far past that of the pox and fire archers. This should (in theory) provide players with a new late game choice

Now instead of spamming Pox or fire archers, the player has the choice between choosing fire for its high damage output, pox for its utility and status debuff, or now standard for this excellent range and increased armor penetration.
