"The Achaemenid Empire, also called the First Persian Empire, was an empire based in Western Asia, founded by Cyrus the Great, notable for including various civilizations and becoming the largest empire of ancient history, spanning at its maximum extent from the Balkans and Eastern Europe proper in the west, to the Indus Valley in the east."

Welcome to the Persia Rework, part of my Wrath of Sparta rework collection!

Persia is the "Final Boss" of Wrath of Sparta. This mod adds several new units and reskins to the Persian roster to make them more worthy of their "Big Bad" status.

New units:

SPARABARA

: Upgrades from Phyrgian/Median Spearmen: The Sparabara, meaning "shield bearers" in Persian, are the heavy front line infantry of the Persian Empire. They are armed with spears and bows and are the "Swiss Army Knife" unit of the Persian military.

IMMORTAL CATAPHRACTS

: T4 barracks: Armoured like turtles, brave as lions, with lances like wasp stings…

DISMOUNTED IMMORTAL CATAPHRACTS

: T4 barracks: When charging towards the enemy, these men are shockingly effective.

IMMORTAL SWORDSMEN

: T4 barracks: The Immortals never die. Their swords sing songs of despair and malevolence to the enemies of the King of Kings.

SCYTHED CHARIOTS

: T4 barracks: The terror of a thundering charge, with flashing blades, is often enough to weaken opponents.

WAR ELEPHANTS

: T4 barracks: These powerful beasts plough through enemy lines with terrifying force.

PERSIAN CAVALRY

: T2 barracks: A good cavalry charge can break the most ardent of enemies.

PERSIAN HOPLITES

: T2 barracks: An idea like hoplites is worth copying, even if Greek "liberty" weakens a man…

Reskins/reworks:

IMMORTAL SPEARMEN

: outfitted with scale armor, these elite troops have been given stats more in line with their station, and a heft cost increase to go with it.

IMMORTAL ARCHERS

: gained armor, gained a shield, gained a sword, and lost the spear.

Notes:

– This mod does not make Persia playable, for that you need a faction unlocker. I recommend ToonTotalWar’s.
