Description:

The Capacitor is descended from a line of purposed slugcats, who in addition to their typical uses, were capable of storing and releasing energy to jump-starting dead equipment. As he uses much of his food to generate his energy, he requires a lot- 8 pips to hibernate, and able to store only 2. While he is usually somewhat weak and a bit slower compared to other slugcats, he’s able to use his stored electricity to power himself up!

The Capacitor has a meter representing stored energy, which fills up slowly over time. By activating ‘Output Mode’ while charge is at least 25%, he can gain access to several abilities, at the cost of draining stored power over time- If it empties, one food pip is drained to refill 50%. With no food, this causes stun, and ‘shorts out’ the capacitor, restricting the use of output mode until it fully recharges.

While in output mode-

– Held electric spears are recharged if they are empty

– Movement such as running, jumping and flipping are generally faster and higher.

– pressing jump and grab at the same time mid-air will consume 25% of a full charge to perform a ‘shockhop’- similar to artificer’s jump, but much weaker- although they can be chained into each other- just make sure not to use up all your food spending charge!

-Spear throws become supercharged, dealing heavy damage – at the cost of a third of a full charge. It might seem strong at first, but remember- your spear throws without this are quite weak!

– If the Capacitor is bitten or grabbed while in output mode, it will discharge automatically, stunning the attacking creature, ‘shorting out’ The capacitor, and giving a chance for escape. This does not, however, prevent damage. If the attacker is a centipede, this will instead deal lethal damage to the centipede, stun the Capacitor, and refill his charge to full! …Unless it’s already mostly full, in which case it overcharges The Capacitor, killing him. Red centipedes, while they still suffer a similar effect, are a bit hardier, and are stunned instead of killed.

Small jellyfish can also charge, or overcharge, The Capacitor. Just… don’t expect Giant Jellies to have a survivable voltage.

One last thing- water will discharge you! whether it’s a simple draining of charge or a violent electric explosion (it only stuns The Capacitor, unlike everything around him) depends on if output mode was toggled on at the time- so be careful around it!
