AOV519’s Peasants on Wheels
This small unit pack adds two new units to the Bretonnian roster, Peasant War Wains and Supply Wains. While they technically don’t exist in any edition of the tabletop game, they’re still designed to fit within the constraints of the lore where appropriate and thus shouldn’t feel out of place.
Peasant War Wains are melee "chariots" that are, of course, ridden by determined (or perhaps insane) peasants. Now, these peasants may not be allowed to ride to battle on horseback, but I haven’t seen anything in the lore that could prevent them from using farm wagons as improvised war vehicles! As for the units themselves, they may quite possibly be the worst chariots in the game, but are also cheap and expendable.
Meanwhile, Supply Wains are a support unit with a limited use active ability that replenishes ammunition and slightly decreases the missile reload time for a targeted friendly missile unit, as well as a passive that can heal nearby friendly units over time. In terms of actual fighting capabilities, however, don’t expect them to do much.
FEATURES:
– Full interaction with the Knights and Peasants system introduced in Update 3.1.
– Tabletop Caps support. Peasant War Wains are Core units, while Supply Wains cost 1 point each towards the Special units cap.
RECRUITMENT IN CAMPAIGN:
– When playing as any Bretonnian faction, both units can be recruited at the Farm building chain (tier 1 or higher for Peasant War Wains, tier 2 or higher for Supply Wains). The recruitment of either unit will incur penalties towards your faction’s Peasant Economy.
BUGS & ISSUES:
– None reported so far.
TO DO:
– A new banner icon for Supply Wains, maybe?
– Rebalance and make changes based on user feedback, if necessary.
