Pullman Sleeper Car (UP Green 1917)
The Pullman Company had, at one point, a near-monopoly on sleeper-carriage manufacturing in the United States. After suffering a major worker’s strike in 1894, the company steadily began to decline into the mid-20th century. By the 1950s and 60s, Pullman had been overtaken by other railcar manufacturers, eventually being bought by Bombardier in 1987.
This specific wagon is based on luxury sleeper cars from the late 1800s/early 1900s, which Pullman was famous for.
