Improvised Silencers Rebalanced
Rebalanced version of Improvised Silencers mod by Maxwell218: https://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=2799742455
Changes to base mod:
– Crafted silencers now have condition (visible in inventory UI) and break after certain amount of shots (depends on weapon caliber).
– Normal silencer is split into Rifle and Pistol variant.
– Normal silencers cannot be crafted, only looted.
– Silencers are now found in more logical locations, where other attachments are found. Pistol silencer is a bit more rare.
– Silencer recipes and stats rebalanced to prevent player from being overpowered with silenced weapons but also provide more meaningful choices on which one’s to use.
Silencer differences:
– Bottle Silencer – no skill required to craft, ingredients easy to find. Can be attached to any weapon except shotguns. 30% sound radius/volume reduction. Breaks quickly.
– Torch Silencer – no skill required, but torches are a bit harder to come by. Weighs more but lasts a bit longer too. 30% sound reduction.
– Metal Pipe silencer – needs Metalworking level 4 to craft. Can be attached to ALL guns, even shotguns. Has the most weight, but the most sound reduction of all crafted silencers – 50%. Lasts much longer than lower tier silencers.
– Rifle Silencer – regular factory-made silencer for all rifles. Has the best sound reduction of all types (60%). Cannot be attached to shotguns. Lower weight than crafted ones. Cannot be crafted. Lasts long, but will break eventually. Found in all places where you can find other attachments.
– Pistol Silencer – the same as rifle silencer, except it is used with pistols (not revolvers). Light-weight. Somewhat more rare than rifle version (addresses the fact that pistols already have smaller range – to prevent players from getting a cheat gun mode).
NOTE: currently only works with Vanilla Firearms Expansions (no addons), support for other mods might be added later.
