Better Wizard Towers
Improves Wizard Towers and makes them generally more important and powerful. This mod achieves this in two ways:
1. Increases the view range of your Wizard Tower.
– Foundation was 2, is 2 (no change).
– Tier 1 was 2, is 3.
– Tier 2 was 2, is 4.
– Tier 3 (Apex) was 2, is 5.
– Arcane Observatory was 4, is 6.
Additionally, adds cumulative +2 Exploration Range to each tier.
2. Unlocks some additional, Affinity-based Tower improvements. These were present in the editor, albeit hidden for some reason. Just managed to re-enable them and make them work.
The game will let you build only one variant that is based on your highest Affinity. In case of a tie (say, Chaos 3, Shadow 3), it will pick the first one from the list (so Chaos). The Affinity of Tier 1 then determines Affinities for Tier 2 and Tier 3.
– Tier 1: Affinity Focus Crystal – all spells of the given Affinity are 10% cheaper to cast
– Tier 2: Affinity Bolstering Matrix – grants all buff spells of the given Affinity a certain secondary buff
– Tier 3: Affinity Amplifier Lens – all damage spells of the given Affinity deal +20 damage and apply a certain debuff
These structures are actually very nice, as they further define each Affinity’s playstyle and kinda encourage you to specialise more.
