[WOTC]Corpse Replacer
In the author’s continued quest to make every aspect of the game exposed to config, this mod allows the easy manipulation of loot tables attached to a unit through config.
This mod allows the option to easily change the loot tables of a given unit using config only. This allows you to change the three loot tables attached to a unit – Base Loot (which includes the corpse), Timed Loot (collectible loot) and Vulture Loot. While the loot tables themselves are open to config, their attachments to unit is not. So for example, this mod allows you to have different corpses (or, in general, base loot tables) for an advanced trooper and a basic trooper. This is impossible to do with config only otherwise.
Why would anyone want to do that? Well, my use case is an entire economy overhaul I worked on, but we decided to upload this mod for the general public, so that any player, modder or otherwise, helicopter gunship, may come up with creative use cases for this mod.
By default, this mod does nothing, and is likely to be of little value for the average user.
The configuration of this mod is done with XComCorpseReplacer.ini, see the instructions within. The config files also contain instructions on how to use Iridar’s celebrated Template Master mod to create new corpses for enemies, and how to incorporate them into loot tables. This allows one to create new corpses for enemies, and then also further to create techs and items that require these corpses.
Depending on what the user does with this mod, it might conflict with "Corpse Dropped Revamp" by MrShadowCX, as that mod edits base loot tables. If the user sets those aliens to use different loot tables, then the changes by Corpse Dropped Revamp will do nothing.
Yes.
Some mods alter base loot tables. For example the chemthrower add-on mod adds chemthrower weapon upgrades to Purifiers. So if you edit the base loot table of Purifier, it will conflict with that mod. This can be solved by including the new Purifier drops from the mod into the base loot table used here.
The author would like to thank RustyDios for essentially writing this mod himself back in the day.
