Story

Good evening agent,
This the is first part of the program, your training. Once complete, head over to the next gruelling challenge in the series made by Moneymaker535:
AT THE SPEED OF LIGHT II

Info

This is a fun, specifically designed multiplayer speedmap for up to four players. It can also be run for fun alone against the clock as well. Bear in mind the PTTR clock starts when you go over the line and ends when you go through the blue exit. There is a performance indicator, for personal guidance that stops when you press the podium button at the end of the map as well.

To a certain degree, consider this an experimental map just for fun. This is because I suspect whoever is hosting the map, and or have a lower ping will have a significant advantage. Also, multiplayer can introduce loads of random bugs simply not present in single player play. For this reason, and fairness players should take turns hosting to get a better picture of personal ability.

History

So how did this series link with Moneymaker535 come about? After the Halloween contest 2021, Moneymaker and I started working independently on a parkour race map. We didn’t realise we both had the same cool idea until some WIP teasers were released on Discord. We both continued to work on our race maps, and found we both had a completely different take on it. Moneymaker suggested linking to his map after playing mine, and consider it to be part of a series!

Known Issues

Spinning around on the staircase causes momentary lag. This has been improved during the optimisation stage of the map building process, but it’s still present. It can happen in a few other places as well. It’s the same for all players. I might continue to tweak this if it’s a major issue based on your feedback, but any changes made won’t effect the course & times achieved so far. For now, and if I can’t resolve it, just look down to the ground as you turn the staircases. This seems to be a good workaround.

Credits

Moneymaker535 for his “At The Speed of Light logo”, and great idea to link the maps! Thanks also to stuckup, and Moneymaker again for some play testing back in January.

I have produced all the music, so there won’t be any youtube copyright issues. Feel free to feature it in your videos.
