NJ GP7s
Yup its me again back with a double whammy. One more geep of the list, the PC geeps should be coming out today or tomorrow
It’s 1976, the commies have infiltrated the government and have created the government run Conrail from the failing Penn Central, Erie Lackawanna (EL), Lehigh Valley, and Central Railroad of New Jersey (CNJ) to name the major ones. Up to this point the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) was having the CNJ and EL run commuter trains on behalf of the state. But now that they were dead they couldn’t do much running so Conrail gave NJDOT former EL and CNJ equipment such as GP7s. All the GP7s were painted into the NJDOT livery with only one GP7 5902 getting the new NJT livery. Most of the GP7s were scrapped or sold in the 80s except for 5681 and 5902 which were donated to the United Railroad Historical Society of New Jersey.
