Monument to the samovar
A samovar is a metal vessel for boiling water and making tea. As a rule boiling is carried out by burning firewood under the tank. It was quite common in Russian Empire, although it probably only came into use about 4 centuries ago, and was in some way an element of luxury: it was rubbed to a shine (polished) and exhibited for guests. One of the largest places for the production of samovars in Russia is the city of Tula.
