Off to Join the Army
Off to join the Army is a mod that takes three friends from a small southern desert farm community to Sho-Battai to join the Militia to run a squad of soldiers to track down and capture bounties and clear out areas around the desert cities where the rebel farmers or rebel swordsmen and outlaws have make their camps. You will bring in prisoners and turn them over to the Police. Because of a shortage of City funds you will sleep in the overflow camp inside Sho-Battai instead of the soldiers barracks. But you are still a valuable soldier in the fight to keep the United Cities intact.
From the Militia you will move on to a Samurai Conscript fighting the war against the Holy Nation in Bast, and through that conflict move from Conscript to Samurai and then to Commander in charge of your own Sqaudron.
This playthrough is a story, and is scripted to easier provide each section with the uniforms and ranks and stats and equipment that come with each promotion. It may be possible ot course to use a single start to do this, but I am not yet competent enough to know exactly how to do that.
For me, breaking it into sections that I could add what each part needed was easier.
Originally I wanted a no slavery campaign and a larger campaign against the Holy Nation on their own lands. But that will require a much larger effort and I will have to go beyond a single squadron to fight off the numbers the HN will field if I take the war into their lands. I have decided to do a separate mod for that effort.
Anyway, even though each section (start) rather scripts the story, I hope it is still fun and enjoyable.
Please let me know what you think.
Thank you,
Teal

In the story one of the characters is crippled (no left arm), but I have included a second (not crippled) start just in case the player prefers.
