Ultimate Ambient Sounds
Inspired and built upon Grimples’ Ambient Sound mod and llunak’s Ambience Forest mod, adding background sounds for all tilesets (including alienbase, finalmission and xenonautbase). Removed out of place/bad quality sounds, changed the soundscape to be more unique for each tileset and added even more new ambient sounds. Examples include:
– cold winds on arctic and tundra maps
– farm animals on farm maps
– crickets, owls, wolves and coyote sounds at night
– eerie noises on alienbase maps
– alarm sound and computer noises on xenonautbase maps
– crowd panic, battle noises, air raid sirens and more on terror missions (town and soviettown)
NOTE: Disable Grimples’ Ambient Sound mod and llunak’s Ambience Forest mod before using this mod!
DISCLAIMER: It has been discovered that the ambient sound system of X:CE bugs the save system for some people and can cause crashing when loading or finishing a Ground Combat mission. There is a work around which is to:
***ALWAYS LOAD A SAVE THAT IS ON THE GEOSCAPE FROM THE MAIN MENU AND THEN NEVER TOUCH THE LOAD SYSTEM FOR THE REST OF THE SESSION***
If you don’t experience any crashing you can use the save system like normal, but if you do please be aware of this issue when using this mod.
A LITE version has now also been made available for people who experienced crashing.
