Viable Hive Soldiers
In the current state of the game (0.99.1) Hivers are the weakest fighters of all races. Seemingly Princes and Workers make up for it by excelling in certain areas. Soldiers are terrible laborers and are clearly bred for combat only roles. So why are they even weaker than a regular greenlander, due to the lack of 3 armour slots? One could argue, that they are expendable and therefore, as all hivers, weaker and need less food than other races to sustain themselves. But from a rpg-players point of view they are just not good enough to warrant a spot in your party. Especially if you play with the vanilla unit cap of 30. The following changes aim to fix that and to fill the gap between Greenlander and Shek.
- Heal rate of 1,2 (Shek have 0,8 and all others 1)
- The hit chance to the head was changed from 80 to 40 (as reference: limbs have a value of 80, right arms 40, chest and stomach 140 for all races)
- Stomach hit points I left vanilla since the base hit chance on this part is for all hivers 60 compared to the 140 of other races. I guess it reflects the thin abdomen of Hivers.
- Chest hit points increased to 150
- Added dexterity proficiency. This should make Soldier Drones one of the best wielders of cutting weapons.
- Added gas immunity since deadly gas is now a thing and Soldiers don’t have headgear to battle this issue. They were bred for battle and are immune to acid, so why not to gas?
So overall this makes the Hive Soldier Drone a fighter that gets knocked out quicker than others but heals up faster and does more damage with katana and polearm-classed weapons.
Note that I have changed Drones of the Southern Hive the same way, which should make them even more dangerous.
