Units Overhaul
Features:
– Units were overhauled for all factions in all game modes, basically without any changes to the game balance.
– Many humanskin and headwear variants with various fixes and additions.
– Autumn texmod for humanskins.
– Less battle-worn face textures for German and Soviet humanskins at Early and Mid war stages.
– Soldier portraits and field icons improvement.
– Localization improvement and native names for units/headwears.
– More/Improved voices for vehicle crew, cannon crew and Soviet soldiers.
– Better models and textures for several items.
– Winter textures tweaks for some vehicles and cannons to work properly.
– Alternative unused menu background with the new main and campaign menu themes. You may need to turn up the volume for the main menu if it’s sounds way too quiet.
Work in progress:
– Same main menu theme but with an addition of Talvisota and Liberation DLC ambience soundtracks. Most likely, I will put it at the end of the theme because Ostfront is the base game after all, and then comes the expansions.
– More additions and changes for Liberation DLC.
– More armored vehicle crew voices for Germany, Spanish Blau Division, and USA.
– New screenshots for a better mod showcase.
– Breeds with the new humanskins and headwears for easy use in the editor.
– Units overhaul for specific missions and skirmishes in the far future.
Worth reading:
– You can find even more humanskins and headwears only in the editor.
– All soldier portraits are now in black and white because I like how it looks. Also, it hides some details, which gives more freedom to combine it with all kind of units.
– Not all maps that use autumn texmod are set in autumn.
– This mod was created on November 7, 2021, and has always been private until now. So yes, it’s means that this mod has been redone basically from scratch more than once.
– The new main menu theme is actually all Ostfront "neutral" ambience soundtracks played in order. It turned out pretty good in my opinion.
