Mesoamerican Expansion

The Mesoamerican Expansion presents you with tons of new content added to Mesoamerica.

The main focus of this mod is laid on the Aztecs with a powerful 54 Missions strong mission tree thriving from uniqueness.
The Aztec Mission tree is accompanied by a new generic Nahuatl mission tree for this region containing 38 missions
As a further rework of the region 16 historically important provinces have been added to better represent this ancient region’s history.
The complexity of the governmental systems back then is now also represented by 7 shared government reforms and 6 unique ones.
The Nahuatl religion is now also differently represented using a government mechanic and the Religious Schools system to combine them together to a powerful new implementation of DOOM.
Those religious schools are:
Tezcatlipoca
Tezcatlipoca was one of the major gods in the Aztec religion, playing a significant role in their cosmology and mythology. Often referred to as the "Smoking Mirror", Tezcatlipoca was associated with various aspects including creation, destruction, destiny, sorcery, and change. He held a complex and dual nature, embodying both light and darkness, creation and destruction.
Tlaloc
Tlaloc was the Aztec god of rain, fertility, and agriculture. He was often portrayed with goggle-like eyes and fangs. Tlaloc was crucial to agricultural success, as rain was essential for crop growth. Offerings and ceremonies were made to appease Tlaloc and secure his favor, especially during the rainy season.
Quetzacoatl
Quetzalcoatl, known as the "Feathered Serpent", was a prominent Aztec deity associated with wisdom, creation, and wind. He was depicted as a feathered serpent or a human figure with a bearded face. Quetzalcoatl was often seen as a bringer of civilization and culture, associated with arts, learning, and rulership. His rivalry with Tezcatlipoca was central to Aztec mythology, representing the balance of opposing forces in the world
Huitzilopochtli
Huitzilopochtli was the Aztec god of war and the sun, often depicted as a hummingbird or an eagle. He was a central figure in Aztec mythology and society, associated with military prowess and protection. Human sacrifices were dedicated to him to ensure victory in battle and the continuation of the sun’s journey across the sky
If we jump forward a few years in history the colonizers are on our border and ready to take over our gold. This new danger will be displayed and presented using a new so-called Colonial Influence mechanic. Depending on our choices and how we handle the colonizers in our ranks, this will either lead to prosperity or a downfall of our society, as this is also accompanied by a new disaster: The Power Struggle. It is a short yet terrifying disaster that can rip your nation apart.
If we continue further in the history of that region, only the monuments of those cultures are left. Thus there also are new monuments for you to discover which may help you survive the path of history.
To top this unique experience off there are also 3 newly composed music titles included in this Mesoamerican Expansion:
- The Sixth Cradle
- Enemies at our Shores
- The City on the Lake

Music: Kyhler
Missions & Religion: Varan
Government Mechanics, Map & Disaster: Minnator
